A Welcome and a Step in the Right Direction
How does one inaugurate a brand new blog at a brand new [permanent, self-owned] URL without waxing nostalgic and/or attempting fortune telling?
I guess I could just say “Welcome!” and “Thank you for taking your valuable time to be here, for having followed me from my previous location, for sharing my words and my perspective.”
That does it, I think.
I have indeed decided to leave my archives behind. This is a new start. While I don’t expect you to notice a major change in content or writing style, I will be making larger and different efforts behind the scenes, which neglecting to import archived content will help me accomplish, at least psychologically.
I look back at each time I’ve changed platforms and URLs and otherwise “started a new internet notebook,” as it were, and I realize that leaving something has always meant starting something new. This is not a continuation of …’til the river runs dry. It is CourtneyOlson.com. I’ve never made my name a secret, but now, with my signature at the top of the page, I have to live up to it every single time I write. I have to know that what I put in front of you represents who I am and who I want to be.
This is about music, it’s about the world, it’s about perspective, and it’s about me.
And you, really. Because you’re here sharing it all with me. Did I say “Thank You,” yet?
Thank You.
Now, I don’t know about you, but I’ve got some peanut butter fudge cooling in the fridge and I’ve very much like to see if it’s ready to eat.

Congrats on your move, and I hope you enjoy your peanut butter fudge.
Welcome home.
i wish you could see me right now, clapping and bouncing in my desk chair, grinning like an idiot. i’m all proud and happy for you and stuff. :)
also, i’m dying of cuteness overdose after watching your take on “no one needs to know”. LOVE. THAT. SONG.
Congrats! Looks great, and I can’t wait to see the evolution from here. :)
