My name is Courtney Olson, and this is my website.
By day, I sit at a desk and fix data and play with spreadsheets. I never, ever wanted a 9-5 sort of job (mine’s 7-4) but it gives me the means to live my life and I have amazing co-workers.
At all other times, I am a singer and a songwriter. I like recording songs in my bedroom. They don’t sound like they belong on the radio, but I kind of like it that way. Jason Mraz inspired me to learn to play ukulele, but I totally bought mine before ukulele was a fad. Country when country wasn’t cool. And all that. I enjoy playing in coffee shops for George Washingtons. I want to grow up to be Lori McKenna.
Oh, and I’m currently recording a brand new EP which is a little more than tentatively named “Heart in a Jar.” Set for release sometime in 2011. Be excited. Trust me, my test subjects are going crazy with impatience for the final product.
I am occasionally crafty. I like kitchen concoctions. I love movies. I love pretty things in general.
I moved to Nashville (well, close enough) in January 2009. The longer I’m here, the more I love it. It’s a city I’m proud to call home.
